Women's health care that looks at the whole picture

For irregular cycles, period pain, PMS and menopause, Janice uses acupuncture and individually prescribed herbal medicine, planned around your cycle.

Does this sound familiar?

  • Cycles that come early, late, or skip a month
  • Cramps that interrupt work or sleep
  • Mood swings, bloating or breast tenderness before your period
  • Hot flashes, night sweats or poor sleep around menopause
  • Cold hands and feet, and tiredness that rest does not fix

How Chinese medicine reads your cycle

In Traditional Chinese Medicine the menstrual cycle is a sign of how the whole body is doing. Sleep, stress, digestion and circulation all show up in it. Care therefore starts with a detailed look at your cycle and general health, not only the symptom that brought you in.

What we treat

01

Irregular periods

For cycles that are too short, too long or hard to predict. Janice follows your pattern over several cycles and adjusts acupuncture and herbs at each phase.

02

Period pain

Acupuncture and herbal medicine aimed at easing cramps, and the lower-back ache, headache or nausea that can come with them.

03

PMS

Care for the week or two before your period: mood changes, bloating, breast tenderness, cravings and poor sleep.

04

Menopause

Support through perimenopause and menopause for hot flashes, night sweats, sleep and mood, alongside the care you receive from your physician.

Heavy bleeding, sudden severe pain, or bleeding after menopause should be checked by a physician first. TCM care works alongside your medical care, not in place of it.

How a visit works

  1. Consultation

A detailed conversation about your health history, your concern and what you hope to change.

  2. Assessment

Traditional pulse and tongue assessment, and a look at sleep, digestion, stress and your cycle.

  3. Your plan

Janice explains what she recommends, how often, and what to realistically expect before anything begins.

Frequently asked questions

When in my cycle should I come?

You can start at any point. If you have them, bring the dates of your last few periods.

Can I come while taking prescribed medication or birth control?

Yes. Tell Janice everything you take. She plans around it and will not ask you to stop anything your physician prescribed.

How long does it take?

Cycle-related concerns are usually followed over several cycles. Janice gives you a realistic outline at your first visit.
